Much as I try it I can't hear this at all. Granted I'm quite tone-deaf but still. Perhaps it's because TAALS is my favourite Bon Jovi song and BoF is pretty disposable :p

You're not alone! I've tried singing one over the other, but it just doesn't seem to match at all. Must be something there as everyone else can hear it, but I can't.

Somebody with a decent voice oughta put a mp3 of that online. Or just mix the two choruses into each other, like the Nickelback thingie that is around online.

They sound mildly similar

I can't really hear the similarity that much but a hint of it I guess, they sound by no means identical.
