Default Hugh Interview March 11,2015

https://soundcloud.com/pablo-rojas-9/hugh

I haven't been able to listen to this (or much of anything else) because I have chronic migraines and they've been awful this week. So I'm not listening to anything, watching TV, etc. I have no idea what it's about, what he said, etc. If someone would be so kind as to post some highlights of what he said... that would be great. If another moderator wants to move a link to a more appropriate thread if it needs to be moved, that's fine too. (If he's talking about the new album or whatever).

Good Interview! Hugh is a little clueless with some questions.

- He recorded with Jon just last week (At the old Power Station now call Avatar). It's a band album. He mentioned that him, Tico, and Dave were in the studio doing demos. Some songs are really great! No word on who is playing guitar. She asked a question about Phil unrelated and he said that was just here for.... and then the interviewer cut him off to say that it was his birthday. So annoying! Hugh never got to answer the question why he was in town.

- He played on every album from Slippery on... Also played on the song Runaway. (He wasn't clear if he played on the entire first album - At first it sounded like he did but then he followed to say that he played on every album from Slippery on)

- He still considers himself an official member although he knows he is just a hired hand.

- After the last tour Jon wanted off for 4 years (which was shortened)

- Funny Moment - Hugh forgot the name of the "Country Record" they did so he had to look it up on the internet.

- The interviewer said she wants another These Days and hated WAN. Hugh basically laughed and said it's not his call. It's all Jon.

- Who Writes the Bass lines - sometimes Hugh, sometimes collective effort with the other band members, sometimes the producer

- She asked for Cadillac Man - He had no clue

- He knew Obie since he was 6 years old.

Nope. Richie was mentioned twice. The first time he was asked to described him. Hugh said that he was funny and said that him and Dave would do comedy bits.

The second time was about his leaving and Hugh just stated, that Jon said it best. It's not a life sentence blah blah blah. Richie is family and sometimes family ****s up but they still love him. He mentioned that he saw Richie a few months back and he's still the same guy he loves blah blah blah

This is a great great interview. The discussion about how the These Days songs were written unlike any other is a neat insight from Hugh.

That's not really how it went down. She asked that question and he laughed and said "No"..... but then again, he said at another part that no two albums are the same so I'll take all that with a grain of salt.

Not really. You're misinterpreting it. He wasn't specifically saying that These Days stands alone compared to all the others.

She asked him what album he plays the best on and he picked SWW, KTF, and TD. He talked up Slippery for a bit. After that, she tells him that TDs is her favorite and she wants another one just like it, he goes on to say that These Days was different than any other album, JUST LIKE THE NEWER ONES ARE DIFFERENT" meaning that all the albums are different.

I thought the way he said it was pretty clear and convincing to me. He also said, he is excited about certain songs and that they were demoing.
