Wow, I already love it!

Jon said an interesting thing on Michael Strahan interview when asked about Richie coming back.

Strahan: "Do you ever see a time when you could perform together again?

Jon: "There's no animos. Plug in the guitar. Stand over there next to Phil and John (Shanks) and me, and David and Tico.. If there's a show tonight I'm not hard to find."

This is where I think the disconnect is. Richie would come back, but he wants to take his own place again.
He probably doesn't want to stand next to Phil and especially not Shanks. And unless that changes, he won't be back.
And Jon probably doesn't want to do that and tell them that they're out now.

So, there's that.

This is it really. Richie would want to come back likely as co-writer and co-producer etc. He said last year Jon would be mad not to use him in that way, so perhaps he already knew something. Richie's stance would be understandable, why give up the life he has now to be a touring guitarist with Bon Jovi?

Then Jon, he is thinking why would I give this guy his place back when he let me down several times before and ultimately left? It is an understandable position to take, and to demand concessions for Richie's return.

It is like I said before, they are both living their own truth and both are correct/wrong.

Someone really needs to tell Jon that 'animos' is not a word. Christ, it annoys me when he keeps saying this.

Yeah, he sounds like a broken record.

Someone needs to ask them both this:
"the other guy is saying there's no obstacle for a reunion, so what is holding you both up exactly?"

Yup. The ball is completely in Richie's court to blow the whole thing up.

He won't. He could have come out band told his side of things right after he left the band and blown things up then, instead of waiting for the documentary - but he didn't. There's not point in him coming out now and saying anything about anything that may have gone down recently. It's never been his style. I kind hope he doesn't anyway. He has new music coming - focus on that!

I realize that us on here have heard and read more interview on the subject matter than the general population, but this whole "I only ever wanted to sell the truth" shit becomes really hard to buy when he uses the same OBVIOUSLY REHEARSED sound bites in every interview. "Animus" is a word, "there was never a fight" is certainly a sentence, "do the job" are certainly words... but it's the "down to earth likeable guy" equivalent of lawyer talk when he always uses the same exact phrasing.

Doesn't feel like a real conversation with actual answers provided.

I don't mean about why he left, about why he can't go back. One side is saying "he's welcome back any time" and the other is saying "I should be back and give people the band they want to see". On paper it should lead to a full band but neither will say what the hold up is.

Yeah I know, so do I. My point is he didn't talk about what went down that time, why would he talk about whatever happened between him and Jon this time? He won't.
