Default Favorite TV Shows/Characters/Actors

Okay, since the board has been declared "dead," here's something to talk about--past and/or present, what are your favorite shows/actors/characters. And, just to spice it up, throw in the characters/actors you hated.

My #1 All Time Favorite, best show ever:
Quantum Leap/Scott Bakula as Dr. Sam Beckett and Dean Stockwell as Al Calavicci. There were only two main characters on the show.

Past:
The Golden Girls/Betty White as Rose

House, M.D./Jesse Spencer as Dr. Robert Chase. I HATED Olivia Wilde as Thirteen. When they brought in the new team they sucked the life out of that show and she was the worst of the worst. Thirteen was an awful character and I've never seen a worse actress than Olivia Wilde. I was so glad when she left.

Another World/Tom Eplin as Jake McKinnon

As the World Turns/Roger Howarth as Paul Ryan

Present:
Forever/Ioan Gruffud as Dr. Henry Morgan
This is the BEST new show I've seen in a long time. More people need to be watching it.

Chicago Fire/Jesse Spencer as Lt. Matthew Casey. I like the whole cast.

Chicago PD/No real favorite... I pretty much watch it because of the Chicago Fire tie-ins. Next season... Chicago Med (for real, they're trying to launch it this season imbedded in Fire/PD).

NCIS: New Orleans/Scott Bakula as Agent Pride. I only watch it because of Scott Bakula. If he wasn't in it, I wouldn't reserve an hour for it.

Bones/I like the whole cast. This show is in its 10th year and it's still great. They write female characters well... unlike House where all the female characters eventually became annoying.

The Middle/I like all the characters. VERY funny show.

Days of Our Lives/Alison Sweeney as Sami Brady... now that she's gone the show has really gone downhill. I hate the character of Will Horton and I think Guy Wilson is an AWFUL actor. Of course, a lot of the younger actors on this show are duds. I pretty much just play it while I'm doing stuff around the house these days.

General Hospital/Roger Howarth as Franco and Michelle Stafford as Nina Clay. I only started watching this about a year ago because they brought in Thaao Penghlis (a favorite from Days) as Victor Cassadine, but they killed him off. It's so much better than Days that I keep watching it though.

I record everything with my DVR so I can fast forward through commercials. I watch the soaps during the week. I'm usually awake to watch NCIS:NO and I TRY to stay up to watch Forever, but usually fall asleep and watch it the next night. Everything else, I watch during the weekend.

I Loved Prison Break. Season 1 was the only time in my life when I would finish watching the end cliffhanger of an episode and not waiting to see what would come next......

It's a shame it got weaker and weaker by the end.

Definitely agree with you on The Middle. Love that show.

My all time favourite shows would have to be...

#1. Survivor
I dont care what anyone has to say about reality TV, I freaking love this show. I was 11 years old when I first watched season one air in 2000, and now I've just turned 26 and im enjoying Season 30 as if it was season 1. It's my obsession outside of Bon Jovi haha.

#2. 3rd Rock from the Sun
This show is comedy gold. So under rated!! All 5 main characters were brilliant. I can watch every season on DVD over and over. The one negative is the final episode. I hate how it ended and I refuse to watch it.

#3. The Walking Dead
I have watched first two seasons about 5 times, just because I love watching it with people who havent seen it before. The reactions on people's faces when main characters get killed off is so good. I still love this show (currently season 5) and im glad they have plans for up to Season 10 (Woo!). The 'inside barn reveal' episode during season 2 (I wont spoiler) is my favourite TV moment of all time.

#4. LOST
Yes it went downhill after the first few seasons, and yes I wasnt happy with the finale, but the hype around this show amongst my family, friends and the general public was like no other show before. It was great.

#5. Miranda
I British comedy that is just downright funny. It's old school basic comedy but I love it! Im just sad the writer and star of the show, Miranda Hart, has stopped writing it (though the Season 3 series finale was a good send off).

Honourable mentions to 30 Rock, Game of Thrones, Arrow, The Flash, Chuck and Big Bang Theory.

1. Breaking Bad; Better Call Saul
Incredibly good show. It's spin off series is looking to be one of the best as well.
2. Friends
Really great show - all other rip offs are horrible and are incredibly shallow (ie. Big Bang Theory)

I've watched a lot of other TV, but nothing really compares to these two shows.

I don't watch as much as I used to, 10 years ago (I was a student and had more time, to be fair). These days my favourites are:

Doctor Who - really got into this the past few years, love it!

The Simpsons - I still love it, a lot of people don't like it any more but I do.

Family Guy - just as ridiculous as ever!

The Big Bang Theory - got into this from the first series and think it's really brilliant.

I still watch my Frasier DVDs a lot, and Friends is still running on telly every day on E4 so I often watch that too - they just never get old!
